Dr. Stephen Akintayo’s Early Life
Dr. Stephen was born on January 28, 1986, to Mr. Victor and Mrs. Deborah Akintayo in the Gonge neighborhood of Maiduguri, Borno State, North-East Nigeria. He was raised in a highly underdeveloped area without power with his four siblings.
Hunger became his family’s major problem after his father’s business failed, and he began scavenging while still in primary school to get lunch. His mother frequently took out loans to pay for his tuition.
Dr. Stephen Akintayo’s Education
Dr. Stephen attended Baptist Primary School, Maiduguri, and Government Secondary School, Jebba, Kwara State. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Microbiology.
Dr. Stephen is a member of the Institute of Strategic Management and a professional member of the Institute of Information Management, Lagos.
He attended Harvard University and the Digital Marketing Institute to study digital marketing consulting. In addition, the European American University awarded him a Doctor of Science, D.Sc. (Honoris Causa), in Real Estate Development and Corporate Leadership. Stephen has received coaching training from the Coaching Academy in the UK.
Dr. Stephen Akintayo’s Career
At the age of 17, Dr. Stephen launched his first business, selling eBooks. Subsequently, his cousin introduced him to selling GNLD supplements. While in his 5th year at the University, he started a Student Trade fair on campus.
Later, in 2008, he launched his E-Commerce platform, Gilead Balm Group, also called Ginido, which helps clients connect with their large national database of contact information. It has benefited well-known brands like MTN, PZ Cusson, Guaranty Trust Bank, Chivita, and others. The company has grown into a multi-million dollar company in over 15 years.
Gtext Holdings is the mother company of 11 subsidiaries, which include Gtext Homes, a real estate company with a highly creative and youthful workforce saddled with the mission of building the first Green and Smart homes in Africa. It has offices in Nigeria (Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Abeokuta, and Port Harcourt), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Florida (USA), and London (United Kingdom).
At the moment, Gtext Homes Limited owns estates in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos; Atan, Ogun State; Ikorodu, Lagos; and Abuja. It is a multibillion naira real estate company with a goal of having over 200 properties spread over Africa by the year 2035.
Other subsidiaries of Gtext Holdings are Gtext Land, which deals with the sale of landed properties, and Stephen Akintayo Consulting, which expands the frontiers of knowledge and wealth through different mentorship programs such as Real estate, digital, and Paper asset Investment advisory.
Dr. Stephen Akintayo also serves as host of the Global Property Brokers Conference, the largest broker conference in Africa. With speakers like Grant Cardone, Ryan Serhant, Dr. John Maxwell, and others, the event is now known as the Global Wealth Festival.
On his platforms, Dr. Akintayo has welcomed some of the most in-demand speakers in the world, including Les Brown, Brian Tracy, and Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki. The broker’s conference has empowered over 15,000 people.
Akintayo reiterated this in an interview. He said, “Recently, we had a broker’s conference where we empowered over 15,000 people through what we are doing so we are getting close because our goal is 100,000 for five years.”
He is the host of two shows: the Learning Luxury Show, which informs viewers about the advantages of having luxury and making money from it, and the Investment Chat in a Rolls Royce, which instructs viewers on various investment opportunities across the world.
This show has hosted some of Nigeria’s top professionals like Joke Silva, Gbenga Adeyinka, Dayo Adeneye, and Ada Ameh.
He is also the president and founder of the Stephen Akintayo Foundation, which was formally called the Infinity Foundation on September 5, 2008. The Foundation’s goal is to provide free foods, clothes, and necessary items for the less fortunate, from the IDP Camp at Maiduguri to Dustbin Estate at Ajegungle, which his team visits frequently.
In December 2015, he started Mercy Orphanage through the Infinity Foundation.

Dr. Stephen Akintayo’s Controversy
Dr. Stephen claimed that during the 2015 election, former president Goodluck Jonathan ordered the DSS to pursue him for providing information services to a client, the Buhari Campaign Organization, which distributed over 3 million emails that went viral and gave Buhari a chance to win.
Additionally, Stephen expressed interest in purchasing Nairaland (a well-known forum in Nigeria) for N100 million on his Twitter profile in April 2020. However, Nigerians responded to this interest by claiming the site was worth more than that.
