The news of how a Popular Pastor Killed by Gunmen in Kaduna has been circulating on the social media. Suspected gunmen have killed a Pastor with the Tawaliu Baptist Church, Kujama in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Jeremiah Mayau.
Disclosing this to newsmen in Kaduna on Saturday, the Chairman of the state’s Christian Association of Nigeria, Reverend Joseph Hayab said the incident occurred when the cleric was on his farm.
While describing the incident as “barbaric”, Reverend Hayab urged security operatives to exercise greater vigilance in the performance of their duties with a view to halting the nefarious activities of criminal elements in the state.
According to Hayab, “The barbaric incident happened on Wednesday afternoon while the Reverend Jeremiah Mayau was in his farm at Prison Farms, kujamachikun LGA of Kaduna State.“It is very painful that gunmen move freely in broad daylight to execute their evil act and get away with it in a civilized society like ours where we have constituted authority that is expected to checkmate this criminal elements in the society.
“It also painful that when you raise an eyebrow, you are seen as a deviant that is just looking for trouble while those in authority have otherwise refused to do the right thing to ensure harmonious coexistence among the citizens.”
