The billboard music awards held on Sunday evening for its 2021 edition with hip hop icon, Kanye West and other contemporary worship collective songs , Elevation Worship emerging top winners in the Gospel category.
The BBMAs was hosted by Nick Jonas and broadcasted live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and aired on NBC.
Elevation Worship bagged two awards for the “Top Christian Song of the Year” and “Top Christian Artist”. While Kanye West won “Top Gospel Artist of the Year” and “Top Gospel Song of the Year” for his single song “Wash Us in the Blood” ft Travis Scott.
Carrie Underwood took home the award for “Top Christian Album” for her first gospel project “My Savior” while Maverick City bagged the “Top Gospel Album of the Year” with their debut live album (Maverick City vol. 3 Part 1).
